The first attraction of its kind in the world, Orbi fuses BBC Earth’s world-leading nature content with SEGA’s cutting edge technology to create an entertainment experience that plunges visitors into the heart of the natural world – this is “nature supercharged.” Featuring a custom built theatre, innovative audiovisual technology, and interactive walk-through touch points, Orbi’s uniquely immersive offering aim to transform the way people explore the mysteries of nature inviting them to see and hear the planet.
With multiple exhibits including a 350 seat theater with a 40m screen, ArtistryWare was contracted to provide the show control programming for all three of the Orbi venues in Yokohama, Osaka and Dubai. The original Orbi in Osaka utilized two Medialon Showmaster Pro show controllers, each controlling half of the venue, with a redundant Tatsoft Factory Studio SCADA front end which provided the ability for operators to control any exhibit using an iPad anywhere int he venue. For the following installations in Osaka and Dubai, it was decided to use individual Medialon Showmaster LE show controllers with a master Showmaster Pro and the Tatsoft front end.
Our technical direction partner, Sam Hatcher, provided complete project management and technical direction for the design, fabrication and installation of all three venues, including Audio, Video, Networking, Control, Projection, and Lighting.
